Umberto Bombana Cooks at La Scala in Bangkok
The king of truffles will be cooking a special 6 course menu on 23 and 24 May at Sukhothai's La Scala restaurant. Be sure to reserve a table.
In an exciting first, chef Umberto Bombana from 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA in Hong Kong will cook at The Sukhothai Hotel's La Scala restaurant in Bangkok on 23 and 24 May.
The chef who boasts 13th place on Asia's 50 Best List will create an Italian themed set six course menu (see below), championing Italian ingredients and hinting at Bombana's love of truffles, assisted by the La Scala's resident executive chef, David Tamburini.
The two days will be a unique chance to try food from the only Italian chef outside of Italy to hold 3 Michelin. Bombana's dedicated service to Italian cuisine also saw him awarded the coveted Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.
They will prepare both lunches and dinners on 23 and 24 May so there are a few chances to secure a table in what will be a very popular event.

Guest Chef Series
The special event forms the second in a new series of dinners entitled Maestros della Scala, in collaboration with Gastronauts, focusing on great Italian chefs. The series also presents the perfect opportunity to inaugurate the newly opened La Scala Italian restaurant.
The first Italian chef to appear in the series was Cristina Bowerman from the celebrated Michelin-starred Glass Hostaria in Rome, Italy.
