One of Britain’s brightest culinary talents, Nathan Outlaw, is to close his eponymous restaurant and reopen it as a more ‘accessible concept’.
The chef announced on Instagram that he is to rebrand his fine-dining restaurant in Port Isaac, Cornwall, which has held two Michelin stars since 2010.
“We are proud to have seen Restaurant Nathan Outlaw go from strength to strength over the years, but we wholeheartedly feel that it is time to change the restaurant to a new, more accessible and fun environment for both customers and staff.
“I am a different chef and person that started the original restaurant and get far more pleasure and reward from the simpler things in life, and that includes the way I cook and eat out.
“We’re incredibly excited to see where this new road leads us, and we will remain just as motivated by our mission to put seafood on your plate and create exciting spaces for guests and staff alike.”
The other restaurant in the chef’s stable, Nathan Outlaw Fish Kitchen, also in Port Isaac, will also be reinvented with a lower price point and will, he says, more accurately reflect his seafood cooking philosophy. The chef has claimed that he has been moving away from fine dining for some time, so this current crisis affords him an opportunity to reimagine his restaurants’ concepts.
The Michelin Guide has published its listing for Washington D.C., with one new two-star and four new one-star restaurants. The Inn at Little Washington is the capital's only three-star restaurant. Take a look.
