Back in October, rumors surfaced that Arzak restaurant would open a second location in London. It has now been confirmed that Juan MariArzak and his daughter Elena will open a restaurant in the city's Halkin Hotel.
At first, it was believed the restaurant would be an outpost of the legendary Arzak, which ranks 8th on the world's 50 best restaurants list. But Caterer Search reports the new restaurant will be called Ametsa with Arzak Instruction.
''Ametsa means 'dream' in our language. The dream of a kitchen beyond our frontiers, in the middle of London, in the heart of the Halkin Hotel, Elena told Caterer Search.
Ametsa will replace the soon-to-be-closed Nahm restaurant, which lost its Michelin star last year, in February 2013. The Arzaks are working on the project with chefs Mikel Sorazu, Igor Zalakain and Xabier Gutierrez, all of whom hail from their three Michelin star restaurant in San Sebastián.
