Chef Mauro Colagreco has completely reimagined the menu at his Mirazur restaurant in Menton, France. The ‘Lunar Menu’ is based on the lunar cycle and its effect on the plants in his garden.
The current holder of the number one position on the World’s 50 Best Restaurant list, Mirazur recently announced a new refurbishment and dining room. It has now been announced that the food offering concept will change as well. Chef Colagreco has assimilated his biodynamic philosophy into his new menu.

Colagreco has taken advantage of the uncertainty of the last few months to contemplate a new way to express his identity in food. He is known as much as a gardener as a chef, and his garden attached to his Mirazur restaurant in Menton is the heartbeat of his cuisine. Called the ‘Lunar Menu’, the new concept will be a regularly-changing menu divided into four separate offerings - Root, Leaf, Flower and Fruit - and will align with the cycle of the moon.
The menu will rely mostly on the produce form Colagreco’s garden but the relationship with local farmers and fishermen who supply seafood will continue to be nurtured.

"I am overjoyed to reopen the doors at Mirazur and welcome guests back to the restaurant,” said Colagreco. “It has been a challenging time, but with the support of our guests, staff, producers, suppliers and partners we return with renewed energy and enthusiasm. Our Lunar Menu creates an entirely new experience for guests, finally deeply connecting nature to the kitchen and ultimately the plate."
