The culinary world rejoiced last year when The Roca Brothers announced they were taking their acclaimed restaurant El Celler de Can Roca on a world tour. Now, Joan Roca has confirmed that aside from traveling to Peru, Colombia and Mexico, the Roca&Roll World Tour 2014 is coming to Texas.
Although many fans hoped the tour would make a stop in New York City, Roca revealed at a press conference that the five-week tour would kick off in Houston then make a stop in Dallas before continuing to three other cities in Latin America.
The chef made the announcement in Houston where celebrity chef Ingrid Hoffman served as a translator (and couldn't help but take a selfie). While in the city, Roca also lead a masterclass at the The Art Institute's International Culinary School, according to Culture Map.

The tour will begin in August and will require a 20-person team from El Celler de Can Roca, including brothers Jordi and Josep Roca. The brothers will recruit two students from each city for a four-month internship at their acclaimed restaurant, which slid to number two on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list this year.
The Roca&Roll World Tour 2014 is sponsored by BBVA bank and it's the first time the Roca Brothers take their restaurant abroad. This seems to be the latest trend with chefs like René Redzepi and Heston Blumenthal pulling off similar stunts.
