You don't need to watch a full episode of Mad Men to realize that a whole lot of drinking goes on in the show. There is certaintly no lack of martinis, Scotch or wine. In what may be a case of art imitating life, it turns out one of the actors on the show has a side gig making and selling wine.
Actor Ben Feldman, who plays the character of genius copywriter Michael Ginsberg, is using his Mad Men fame to publicize his label of syrah. Along with a childhood friend who also happens to be a sommelier, Ben founded Angelica Cellars in 2005. The wine is made from grapes from central California and is available at three restaurants, including Spago in Beverly Hills.
It seems fitting that a Mad Men actor would be a real-life wine lover. The HBO television series is in its 5th season and has successfully made the leap into the cookbook world and has even inspired retro dinner parties.
