Are You Wheel is an exciting online project from the designer Christoph Therard that tries to combine human movement with kitchen appliances that would normally require electronic components.
Born from Therard's hatred for the amount of electronic devices that end up as discarded junk the device offers a number of kitchen appliances that are powered only by your foot.
Called the R2B2 the unit can create power from the heavy spinning wheel inside the cabinet. The unit includes a food processor, a coffee grinder and a hand blender which are all powered from some form of human interaction.
The Are You Wheel campaign is to try and attract new team members to help the project grow and build a working prototype that other people can use.
The design is beautiful, the concept born from a real want to change and the online community created from a passionate team who fully support the product - we think this is going to be a winner.
