How to make fruit cake loaf recipe
To prepare a delicious fruit cake loaf start putting the fruit and sugar into a bowl and just cover with warm tea.
Cover and leave to soak for a least 4 hours or overnight.
Heat the oven to 170°C, gas 3. Grease a 1 kg loaf tin.
Stir the marmalade, cinnamon, egg and flour into the soaked fruit and beat well until thoroughly combined.
Spoon into the tin and bake for about 90 minutes until cooked through.
Leave in the tin for 15 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool.
Serve the fruit cake loaf sliced, spread with butter.
