Claude Troisgros Wins LatAm 50 Best Lifetime Achievement Award
23 August, 2016
Claude Troisgros of Rio's Olympe restaurant will be the recipient of the The Diners Club® Lifetime Achievement Award 2016 at Latin America's 50 Best Restuarants sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna next month, it has been announced.
French-born Troisgros has been at the forefront of French/Brazilian fusion at Olympe (formerly Restaurant Claude Troigras) since it opened in 1983. Last year it claimed 23rd spot in Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants.
The Diners Club® Lifetime Achievement Award "recognises the contribution, originality and imprint of a chef’s career," and was awarded last year to Enrique Olvera.
Geranium's Rasmus Kofoed has decided to stop serving meat at the restaurant currently ranked number two on the World's 50 Best Restaurants list. But the Danish chef isn't yet willing to go purely plant-based.
