San Sebastián Gears up for this Year's Gastronomika 2015

The city of San Sebastian, famous for having the most Michelin stars per capita is all set to host its annual food extravaganza, Gastronomika 2015. Gathering the worlds best chefs, conducting competitions, debates and cooking demonstrations, Spain will become the culinary capital of the globe for four days.

Sponsored by Acqua Panna and S.Pellegrino the 17th edition of this impressive festival will kick off on October 4th and run until October 7th. This year's focus will be the culinary hubs of Singapore and Hong Kong, two urban environments with a very diverse culinary offering, from street food to haute cuisine.

Chefs will be in attendance from all over the world hosting live workshops and presentations. Over 30 speakers will be participating, including Ángel León, Joan Roca, Paco Morales, Jordi Cruz and Albert Adría amongst many more. Topics covered will be indepth and far reaching, from León raising awareness of optimising food from the sea, to Adria discussing the collision between gastronomy, music and art.

Top Asian chefs, Malcolm Lee from Candlenut Restaurant (Singapore) Pepe Moncayo from Bam! Restaurant (Singapore), Joseph Maria Kao & Meilan Kao from Shanghai Restaurant (Barcelona) will all be demonstrating how to make some of the most well know dishes from Singapore and Hong Kong as part of Sunday's 'Popular Gastronomika' programme.

Guests in the auditorium will have the chance to try the dishes that the chefs have just prepared live before them, as well as fine wines and cavas, jamons, pintxos and many exquisite artisanal products and tasting dishes.
