Food Fashion at 2012 IACP Upcoming Annual Conference
New York City will be the stage where chefs from around the globe will converge with food, media, art and fashion professionals for five days
New York City will be the stage where chefs from around the globe will converge with food, media, art and fashion professionals for five days (29th of March 29- 2nd April) during the 34th annual conference of the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP).
Participants will be able to rub shoulders with the likes of chefs Grant Achatz from Chicago’s Alinea restaurant, Dan Barber from Blue Hill restaurant in New York, Marcus Samuelsson from Red Rooster restaurant in New York, renown nutritionist and food activist Marion Nestle, former New York Times restaurant critic and food writer Ruth Reichl, all of whom are among the long list of featured speakers.
More than 75 workshops and hands-on classes will be held as part of the creative process linking food with publishing, design, fashion, sustainability, social activism. The classes will be held at the International Culinary Center, the Institute of Culinary Education and the Bon Appetit magazine kitchen.
The event will be inaugurated with a welcome party Friday, 30th March, where VIP chefs will compete to see who creates the most fashionable dishes. Craft beer and elegant wine will flow as mixologists shake and stir fabulous drinks.
Guests will be able to attend a Sunday brunch in SoHo (1st April) and then meet more than 100 cookbook authors, bloggers, publishers and editors at the Book & Blog festival.
