Two designers say they have created a cast iron pan that is “lighter and smoother” than other pans on the market.
The field skillet, designed by two brothers, is a labour of love and years of research in understanding how to form the perfect pan.
They’re made with 75-90% recycled iron and seasoned with an exacting method the brothers perfected along with help from their friend, who also happens to be a biological chemist.
The Field Skillet crowdfunding campaign ends today and the results have been unbelievable. Over 11,000 people have backed the project, generating funds of $1.5 million.
