Memphis World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest 2016

Memphis city is quite literally heating up to host the 39th annual World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest for 2016, taking place May 12-14, 2016 as part of the wider festival 'Memphis in May'.

In a city of that labels itself the “Barbecue Capital of the Free World,” over 100,000 barbecue fans are expected to gather at the Tennessee city for a taste of the smokin treats on offer from a huge number of international grilling contestants.

Over 250 teams from 20+ states and several countries are expected to take part in the spectacular grilling event which attracts international media coverage. Don't forget to sign up in advance if you want to take part as a team.

More than $110,000 in cash and prizes is up for grabs for the best pork on the planet.
