The Philadelphia Vendy Awards are back for their second ceremony looking to recognize the best mobile food vendors in Philly as they search for the best street food chef in the city.
Submissions are open till Thursday the 5th July with the winning vendor crowned on the 28th July. Whether it's an authentic taco, creamy and fluffy coffee or an artisanal hot dog - it now seems there's a food truck for almost every style of food. With such a resurgence of mobile food vendors this type of award is a great way to promote the rising stars of the industry.
The awards are only in their second year in Philly but have already helped contribute to the street food economy, creating guides for nomadic kitchens and even a Philadelphia Moile Food Association that offers advice for new entries in the market place and look to work to promote the future growth of the street food economy.
