Ho to make Wholemeal Rolls

Heat the oven to 200°C (180°C in a fan oven), 400°F, gas 6 and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.

Mix together the flour and the salt and create a well in the middle.

Dissolve the yeast in 300 ml lukewarm water, pour into the well and work into a smooth dough using a hand mixer with dough hooks.

Knead by hand on a floured work surface for 5 min, then cover and leave to rise in a warm place for 1 hour until it has doubled in size.

Re-knead the dough, shape into rolls and place on the prepared baking tray.

Leave to rise for another 15 min.

Brush the rolls with water, sprinkle with seeds or oats and bake for around 30 min.

Leave to cool and serve your wholemeal rolls either warm or cold.
