It’s the 66th edition of the Cannes Festival opening today until the 26th of May. On the red carpet movies that will make history such as the Great Gatsby by Baz Luhrmann and Behind the Candelabra by Steven Soderbergh.
Italian director Paolo Sorrentino's movie La Grande Bellezza will also be competing on the croisette. The movie tells the story of a new kind of Dolce Vita, a contemporary world of parvenus. It is also the only Italian movie in competition for the Palme d’Or. The cast includes actors Toni Servillo, Carlo Verdone, Carlo Buccirosso and a guest star featured in the cover picture.
S.Pellegrino will be at the Festival also with a special limited edition bottle to celebrate cinema and its protagonists for the fourth time in a row. The partnership between S.Pellegrino and cinema is an historic one. The iconic bottle is an ambassador of Italy abroad and appears in important movies such as 007 From Russia with Love (1963) by Terence Young, The Grande Bouffe (1973) by Marco Ferreri, The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) by Wes Anderson, The Devil Wears Prada (2006) by David Frankel, just to name a few.
Not to forget, Fellini’s La Dolce Vita (1959) the first movie in which the bottle appears.
