Slow Fish, the biennual festival dedicated to all things from the sea returns. Held from 18 to 21 May the Slow Food event will be located in the unique setting of the Old Port of Genova in Italy's Liguria.
The sustainable sea, the sea that must be protected and safeguarded, the sea from finite resources form the backdrop of the festivities. The theme of this eighth edition, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, is "The network we are" reflecting the importance of creating connections between all the "links" of the seafood chain, including fishermen, artisans and of course chefs.
What awaits visitors who will arrive in Genoa on the penultimate weekend in May?
In addition to the market area, where there will be food communities, Slow Food Italy and Slow Food International, there is also an area dedicated to food trucks (don't miss the caciucco Livorno) and the Alliance Kitchen, where you can sample traditional recipes from around the world, from panzanella to encocado from Ecuador.
As always there's a full program including: International conferences on topics such as sustainability and climate change, meetings with producers and master classes on fish, but also tastings and dinner dates with great chefs including Cedroni Moreno, Mauro Colagreco and Luigi Taglienti dedicated to marine flavors of the Riviera.
The tasting workshops set up in the market counters will have you travelling from Haiti to Ireland.
