Scotland's capital city boasts two food festivals this summer, giving even more valid excuses to visit the spectacular city ahead of the Fringe.
As Scotland's capital city warms up to host the world's largest annual celebration of the arts at the famous Fringe Festival, here are two summer food events that deserve to take to the stage in advance, whetting your appetite for the cities spectacular food scene and festivities.
Edinburgh Food Festival
After its inaugural launch last year the Edinburgh Food Festival returns to George Square Gardens for a spectacular five-day food centred celebration from 27 to 31 July.
Championing Scottish food producers and serving up tasty grub over the five days the event also hosts a great line up of chef talks and entertainment in the Spiegeltent Palais Du Variete, providing the perfect event to whet your appetite for Edinburgh's Summer Festival Season.

Edinburgh Foodies Festival
Foodies Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary following its successful start during the Edinburgh Festival back in 2006.
The festival that now tours the UK has an interesting line-up of chef's theatre, drinks theatre, pop-up restaurants and is a good fun event to get to know the local food scene.
