Alimentaria Food Fair in Barcelona

Alimentaria, Barcelona’s biannual food fair and one of the most important food events in Europe, has just started.

With over 30 years of experience, this year Alimentaria is having more than 4,000 exhibitors, 30% of which come from abroad. Among this edition’s new entries, we find the Guest Country section dedicated to Mexico and the Alimentaria Hub, destined to promote food innovation in all its forms. Second only to tourism, the food sector is one of the country’s core export businesses, not to mention that Catalonia is just one of Spain’s many culinary-rich regions.

In a city bustling of interesting food proposals, it’s not hard to find keen promoters: Dry Martini bar’s Havier de las Muelas, a worldwide reference for cocktails, and the Michelin starred chef Paco Roncero, are just two of the two of the many Spanish kitchen gurus that will be talking at BCNVanguardia, a series of gastronomic talks hosted by Alimentaria.
