The Golden Vines® Awards: How to Participate in the Oscars of the Wine World
From 15 to 17 October the Golden Vines Awards 2022 will be held in Florence, an unforgettable three days of great wines, masterclasses, dinners signed by international chefs and incredible guests. Find out how to participate.
Created in 2021, The Golden Vines® Awards is a charity event designed to support funding programs for wine education on diversity and inclusion. The second edition will be held in Florence, from 15 to 17 October 2022, after last year's success at Annabel's in London.
The Golden Vines® Awards is one of the industry's most prestigious charity auctions, celebrating the world's finest fine wines and their production with Michelin-starred chefs. Tickets for this exclusive event are available for purchase online or by emailing events@liquidicons.com.
This year the celebrations will begin on Saturday 15 October with the 'Dress to Party' gala dinner, where guests can savour the dishes of Davide Oldani, two Michelin stars at the D'O restaurant in Cornaredo (Milan) and Matteo Lorenzini, executive chef of the Osteria di Passignano, in Tuscany. The evening will be punctuated by the live notes of Alessandro Ristori & The Portofinos.
SGC will then host a lunch on Sunday 16 October in the beautiful setting of Villa Mangiacane, just outside Florence. During the evening, The Golden Vines® Awards ceremony and gala dinner will take place in the spectacular Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio. Massimo Bottura, of three-Michelin-star Osteria Francescana in Modena, in the hall of fame of The World's 50 Best Restaurants, will create the evening's menu.
The two gala dinners will be paired with some of the rarest and finest wines in the world, including Dom Pérignon Rosé 2008, Dom Pérignon P2 2004, Krug Grande Cuvée, Krug Vintage, Dom Ruinart, Trimbach Clos Sainte Hune 2012, Emidio Pepe Trebbiano d 'Abruzzo 2004, Château Cheval Blanc 2005 in magnum, Solaia, Château d'Yquem, Taylor's Port 1970 in magnum, selected by Marc Almert, The ASI Best Sommelier of the World 2019 and Michelin Sommelier of the Year 2020.
The evening will include live entertainment from Celeste, an award-winning and internationally recognised artist who has received awards such as the Brit's Rising Star Award 2020 and the BBC's Introducing Artist of the Year 2019. Sekou Sylla, an up-and-coming musician, will join Celeste on stage for the evening. British artist Shantell Martin will again be the creative head of design for the Trophy this year, working alongside Amorim Cork, the world's largest supplier of wine corks and a special guest Italian artist.
Another important moment will be the auction of 100 lots, including bottles (large formats and old vintages of some of the biggest wine brands in the world) and experiences (exclusive tastings and stays in chateaux and historic cellars), available both at the event live and online. The target? Raise over £1.2 million, to fund educational programs related to diversity and involvement in the wine, spirits and hospitality sectors, such as the Taylor's Port Golden Vines® Diversity Scholarship, the Internship & Mentorship Programs, Dom Pérignon Golden Vines® Master of Wine & Master Sommelier Scholarships, Hennessy Golden Vines® Diversity Scholarship in Spirits, and other educational program scholarships curated by Golden Vines®.
Earlier this summer, Liquid Icons announced four winners of the Dom Pérignon Golden Vines® Master of Wine & Master Sommelier Scholarships and 10 Wine Scholar Guild Golden Vines® Scholarships after 47 candidates entered from 18 different countries.
For a chance to have a seat at the table, tickets are on sale from £6,000, including a seat at the main gala evenings on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th. VIP tickets are available for £10,000 per ticket, including a place for the main gala evenings on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th, as well as the first choice of VIP events during the weekend, Saturday 15 to Monday 17 October. Subsequent Golden Vine® Awards will be held in Paris in 2023, in New York in 2024, in Singapore in 2025 and in Madrid in 2026.
