Since its inauguration in 2015, the S.Pellegrino Young Chef competition has swiftly become one of the most exciting cooking competitions in the gastronomy calendar, and this year's postponed event looks set to be the most exciting yet.
In October the world's most talented young chefs, mentors and an all-star-list of seven sages will celebrate together in a real restart of the hospitality sector, highlighting the transformative power of gastronomy.
Twelve young chefs finalists from around the world will cook in front of the grand jury - the Seven Sages - Pim Techamuanvivit, Mauro Colagreco, Manu Buffara, Gavin Kaysen, Enrico Bartolini, Clare Smyth and Andreas Caminada in Milan.
Each will present their signature dish, further refined thanks to the support and guidance of each of the young chefs’ dedicated mentor-chefs.
At the Grand Finale, the current 36 regional winners of the three additional awards will also be narrowed down to a final three, announcing one final winner for each award.
The event, was originally due to be held on 8-9 May 2020, before it was forced to be postponed due to health and safety restrictions as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
