Chef Ronny Emborg from Copenhagen is set to take over from Matthew Lightner at the Atera restaurant in New York after the announcement that Lightner is set to leave the restaurant to pursue his own venture in New York.
Emborg currently works as Executive Head Chef at Restaurant Marchal in Copenhagen and with stints at elBulli, Mugaritz and Geranium and the impressive title of personal chef to Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark already under his belt, it seems he’s set to hit the ground running when he starts his journey in New York.
Speaking about the new appointment, owner Jodi Richard said: “Chef Lightner’s influence will always be a part of Atera and we wish him well on his new venture. Chef Emborg was a natural choice as Chef Lightner’s successor and we are thrilled to welcome him into our Atera family.”
Emborg will start cooking at Atera after a short closure in April. Below you can see some of the chef’s creations, enough to whet even the toughest New Yorker’s appetite.
