The latest food to catch people’s attention online is Omurice from Japan – an omelette–style dish that’s served on top of rice.
The reason it’s getting so much attention is the way in which the dish is served.
The omelette, tight packed, is placed on top of cooked rice before being slit down the middle as the gooey insides fall out of the thin egg skin.
It seems that one of the most famous places for Omurice, which is a riff on the words omelette and rice, is the The Youshokuya Kichi Kichi in Kyoto, Japan.
Rather than just being faux-meat, Mamu is different. It's a mushroom-based meat alternative that's getting its launch in restaurants so that chefs can test its versatility. Flora Tsapovsky investigates.
