The Chef

As executive chef of Gymkhana Las Vegas, Srikant Kumar brings more than a decade of experience in leading Indian restaurants to a first-of-its-kind dining experience on the Las Vegas Strip.

Kumar began his culinary career with The Oberoi Group, the India-based luxury hospitality company. After training as a kitchen operations trainee at the Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development in Jaipur, he graduated as a gold medalist from its associate kitchen management program. He went on to work in several Oberoi properties before joining Michelin-starred chef Alfred Prasad at Omya in Delhi. As a junior sous chef, Kumar worked alongside Prasad, helping curate menus aligned with the seasons. He later served as executive chef of Kakapo Restaurant in Delhi ahead of its opening, helping establish its operations.

In 2021, Kumar moved to England to take on the head chef role at Palm Indian Restaurant in Marlborough, where he transformed a traditional menu into one focused on progressive Indian cuisine. In 2023, he relocated to the United States to serve as executive chef of Karma Modern Indian in Washington, D.C. Most recently, he led the kitchen at Kismet Modern Indian in Richmond, Virginia, Karma’s sister restaurant, where he continued refining a contemporary Indian approach.

At Gymkhana Las Vegas, Kumar works closely with Karam Sethi, co-founder of Gymkhana and JKS Restaurants, to recreate the flavors and dishes that define the original London restaurant.
