New York City's Le Fooding Beach Club 2014 went without a hitch this weekend as foodies descended upon Rockaway Beach for three delightful days of food, music and fun under the sun.
In keeping with the beach bum spirit, this year's Le Fooding event featured beachside picnics prepared by renown New York City chefs like Ivan Orkin from Ivan Ramen, Christina Tosi from Momofuku Milk Bar, Andrew Field fromRockaway Taco, and Enrique Olvera from Cosme. Also participating was acclaimed chef Ludo Lefebvre from Los Angeles.
The menu included Summer chilled lemon shio dashi ramen by Orkin, Field's cornmeal crostini sopes and Tosi's famed grapefruit popsicles and cereal milk pudding. Lefebvre contributed a succulent dish of grilled veal breast, crispy artichoke, parmesan cream, dried bonito while Olvera seduced the crowd with red chilaquiles and burrata.
Officially dubbed the SanPellegrino Fruitstock, the gastro-fest sponsored by S.Pellegrino Sparkling Fruit Beverage also featured mixologist Lynnette Marrero who crafted Italian "mocktails," made with San Pellegrino's Clementine and Pomegranate-and-Orange sodas.
Live music was provided by the New York Brass Band and included DJ sets from Cibo Matto, Nancy Whang, Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans.
