There's been plenty of food for thought over the past seven days, both political and sporting, so whether you're commiserating or celebrating, or just into re-inventing the donut, what better way to distract your thoughts than drooling over some of Instagram's finest food shots.

We're all about Nikkei Cusine these days, the culinary fusion of Japanese technique and exciting Peruvian ingredients. This dish is tiradito, salmon sashimi set on a mango miso sauce.

These ice bowl noodle dishes got us talking that come served in a Japanese restaurant in Kyoto. Aside from looking totally cool, they give the noodles a whole new dimension.
