The Royal Opera House in London has a unique food offering available at the moment allowing guests to consume food that matches the opera they have come to see.
The ROH has teamed up with the world renowned pastry chef Claire Clark to produce a range of desserts inspired by opera.
Claire has created mini-Pavlovas, served at matinee performances of Swan Lake plus a selection of other Christmas treats.
This is just one dish in a range of meals created to reflect the productions at the opera house. Claire, who is the head pastry chef at Thomas Keller's French Laundry restaurant, created a stunning plate with a subtle note to the Swan's in Swan Lake.
Other pairings include Spanish wines and tapas with performances of Kenneth MacMillan’s Las Hermanas. A selection of French wine and a luxurious menu will run alongside La bohème, while a meal of Greek lamb kofte and mint yoghurt will accompany Harrison Birtwistle’s The Minotaur. It's an interesting idea and one that's sure to add a new dimension to dining and the opera.
