Eva Longoria to go 'Searching for Mexico'

After the huge success of CNN’s Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, the network is lining up a spin-off series for Mexico, but this time the protagonist will be Eva Longoria.

The six-part docu-series will see the Mexican-American actress travel to Mexico to explore the country’s rich and diverse food culture, with stops taking in tequila and mole among other famous foods. The series will be produced for CNN’s soon-to-launch streaming service CNN Plus, and will have Stanley Tucci on board as executive producer. The second series of Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy is expected to air in the spring of next year.

“Partnering with CNN on a culinary-driven expedition throughout Mexico is a dream come true. I am so proud of my Mexican-American roots and can’t wait to bring the hidden gems of Mexico to the world through Searching for Mexico,” said Longoria, in a statement. “I am a huge fan of Stanley’s journey throughout Italy; he set the bar high, and I can’t wait for everyone to fall in love with the magic of Mexico.”
