David Chang has announced he’s opening a new fried chicken restaurant in Manhattan.
Called Fuku, Eater reports that the new restaurant will occupy the old Momofuko Ko building with Chang telling crowds at SXSW in Austion that "We're going to try to make the best fried chicken sandwich possible, and work with smartest people out there to make the best tech stuff for it.”
The chef said he would be working with the best in the business and building the best tech available, including an app that will help customers order their food.
Chang joins Roy Choi, Daniel Patterson and Gaston Acurio who all recently announced plans to open fast casual concepts, and the chef says Fuku is all part of ‘bigger concept’.
