The international artist Damien Hirst has created a custom made piece to go inside the Tramshed restaurant in London titled Cock and Bull, 2012.
The sculpture, which is an extension of Hirst's highly successful Natural History series, sits proudly in the centre of the Tramshed's dining room. The piece shows a cow inside a glass box with a small cockerel perched on its back. The perfect imagery for a restaurant that only sells steak and chicken on their menu.
The space on the bottom floor of the Tramshed will also house regular art exhibitions. With Hirst now one of the most viewed and successful artists of his generation, this coupling of art, food and theatre with a well known restaurant and such a highly acclaimed artist is yet another signal of the current convergence that's taking place between food and the arts.
