For years, Puerto Rico’s food scene has been quietly building. Now, it has a platform that makes it impossible to ignore.
The Puerto Rico Wine & Food Festival returns April 23 through 26 for its second edition, bringing together a mix of local talent and international names, including Mario Pagán, Ayesha Nurdjaja, Juan Manuel Barrientos, Geoffrey Zakarian, Scott Conant, Ming Tsai, and Todd English. Centered at San Juan’s La Concha Resort, the four-day program includes walkaround tastings, multi-course dinners, and wine pours from more than 75 producers, along with events staged across the island.
On paper, it resembles the kind of culinary festival now common in major food cities.
But Puerto Rico is not trying to replicate another destination. It is positioning itself as one.
“This festival is a celebration of culture, community, collaboration, and a continued commitment to elevating Puerto Rico as a world-class culinary destination,” says festival host Mario Pagán.
That ambition is already taking shape across the island.
