Eleven Madison Park, the world’s best restaurant, is set to reopen this Sunday after closing in June for an extensive redesign that’s seen business partners Daniel Humm and Will Guidara team up with the architecture firm Alied Works for what has to be one of the most anticipated restaurant redesigns of the decade.
And, thanks to an article in Architectural Digest, and some excited social sharing from Guidara and Humm, the first few pics of what the new restaurant will look like are starting to come in.
After operating together for eleven years, and winning the coveted crown of best restaurant in the world in 2017, Humm and Guidara announced that it was finally time to make the changes to the restaurant they’ve always wanted to make.
“We have evolved the experience so many times, we have never had the ability to evolve the space in which we serve in... we’re going to rip everything out and start over,” explained the duo on the night of receiving the number one spot on The World’s 50 Best Restaurant’s list.
The article in AD also goes into some detail about the new kitchen design at EMP. Chef Humm is apparently very happy with a new Molteni stove, saying he finally had one after 25 years waiting. The kitchen, which has been opened up to allow everyone to see and communicate with each other, is fitted with a few cool gadgets like a specially designed dry-aging area for duck, a big component in one of EMP’s signature dishes.
