With the dust settled on the shock inclusion of four Japanese restaurants in the top 10 of La Liste 2020, we can now take a look at the restaurants that made the top 100.
The top spot was shared out between Le Bernadine, Guy Savoy and Ryugin, with Tokyo’s Sugolabo storing the list to take third, Kitcho Arashiyama in seventh and Sushi Saito in eighth, La Liste made 2020 a vintage year for Japanese restaurants.
The list, which compiled by algorithm from 715 guides in 195 countries, over 350,000 trusted reviews and 56 million scanned reviews is known for usually being very French-leaning. However, with Japan owning the top 10 other highly acclaimed restaurants such as Mirazur sits in 21st place, with Osteria Francescana in 26th.
Gordon Ramsay’s London restaurant made it to 40th position and Eleven Madison Park in 44th. Rasmus Kofoed’s Geranium is at 63 in the list, while Keller’s The French Laundry is in 83rd. Redzepi’s Noma sits way down at 91 in the ranking.
