It seems chefs around the world are intent on out doing each other for cooking up some very expensive creations.
Over the past month we've brought you the most expensive burger, most expensive cupcake and the most expensive whiskey - now we bring you a hot dog creation from the 230 Fifth Lounge in New York.
Priced at $2,300 and made from marbled wagyu beef the company claim to have created the world's most expensive hot dog.
The beef of the hit dog is infused with black truffle and presented on a homemade toasted brioche coated in white truffle butter. It's served with saffron infused tomato ketchup and mustard imported from France.
The real exclusiveness comes when it's time to add the onions - caramelized in Dom Perignon Champagne and a 100-year-old balsamic - these are more than your average caramelized onions. The dog is even topped with a homemade sauerkraut containing caviar.
All the money collected from the sales of the hot dogs will be donated to City Harvest, an organisation dedicated to feeing hungry New Yorkers.
