The city of Mérida, Yucatán, in Mexico, will welcome the 10th edition of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna - and you can watch the livestream of the event here, on 15 November.
With the list of 51-100 best restaurants having already been announced, the red-carpet ceremony will start at 8.40pm local time. The coveted top 50 listing will be announced, culminating with the all-important number one position, currently held by Central in Lima, Peru.
As usual, the list will draw from restaurants of all kinds across the rich diversity of one of the world’s most eclectic and dynamic continents. Chefs, restaurateurs and gourmets will pack the venue to celebrate a decade of exceptional gastronomy, and witness the exciting countdown.
For those in attendance, there is a three-day programme of events to experience, from Sunday 13 November, to the award ceremony on the evening of 15 November. The programme includes the #50BestTalks: Cocina Consciente at the Hyatt Regency Mérida, featuring David Hertz, entrepreneur and founder of the NGO, Gastromotiva; Debora Fadul, chef-owner of Guatemala City’s Diacá; and Mayan cook Rosalia Chay Chuc, of Chef’s Table: BBQ fame.
