Robots have taken over a restaurant in China's Heilongjiang Province. Everything from the kitchen to the dining room is operated by robots and customers seem to be pretty amused by the stunt.
Humans do play a role by placing ingredients for noodle dishes inside the machine then the robot sets about cooking the dish. Once it’s ready it’s passed on to a mini robot server that takes the dish directly to the table.
In this video from the BBC you'll see the robot restaurant in action. While restaurant owner Liu Hasheng intends to use robots as a means of cutting costs, Business Insider reports the price of the robots is anywhere from $31,500 to $47,000 upfront.
It's interesting to note the automation of restaurants seems set to continue as business owners look for both a USP and a cheap way of staffing their restaurants. Skeptical? Take a look at these crazy cool robot restaurants around the world.
