In the three star department, with no new entries, there is one notable absentee in The Fat Duck, Heston Blumenthal’s restaurant in Bray. The restaurant has been closed for much of the year for refurbishment’s and the move to Australia and because of this it was not evaluated enough times to be assessed.
In the one star category, 15 new restaurants were awarded their first star with Lyle’s, the one many expected, making the list.
Manchester is still crying out for culinary recognition with the city once again missing out on any of Michelin’s highest ratings. Further North, in Leeds, The Man Behind the Curtain gained its first star.
