It seems Lionel Messi is the latest footballing star to step into the food game with the launch of his new restaurant ‘El Bellavista del Jardin del Norte’ in Barcelona.
The Barcelona star, who is arguably the best footballer in the world today, unveiled the new restaurant, which he will open with his brother Rodrigo and sister Marisol.
The restaurant, which has a 1000-square-metre garden, is situated on Enric Granados Street close to the city centre.
The restaurant will pay homage to Rosario village where Messi and his siblings grew up. One dish, said to be the footballer’s favourite, will be Milanesa Napolitiana a Caballo – veal in breadcrumbs with a tomato and cheese sauce.
A quick look at the menu, which is now online in Spanish, shows a wide range of dishes including classics such as patatas bravas, classic torta and a steak section – a nod to the family’s Argentinian routes.
