Virgilio Martinez and his team at the Central restaurant in Lima, Peru, have taken the number one spot on Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants list, sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, which was announced this evening in Mexico City. Martinez took the title as the Best Restaurant in Latin America for the second year in a row and took to the stage with wife and kitchen partner Pia Leon. “This is always a joy”, said the chef, adding, “it’s very important to celebrate, I can’t wait to share it with the team, a great team that helps me manage things on a day to day basis.”
Second on the list went to the Borago restaurant by Rodolfo Guzmán in Chile and third spot was award to Astrid y Gaston in Lima.
