This doesn’t apply if you’re planning to hold your dinner indoors, but if your evening is taking place on a patio or in a garden, checking the weather forecast is a must-do. Have a couple of light blankets or pashminas, in case someone feels cold. If it’s windy, opt for lanterns instead of the classic candleholders. Place a few citronella candles to keep mosquitoes away. Lemongrass, tea tree oil, catnip and pennyroyal essential oils are all natural repellents that can be applied straight to the skin.
