Chef Gaggan Anand has announced that he will be opening a two-month pop-up at the Mandala Club in Singapore, from 3 November 2021, to 6 January 2022.
“This is not a simple pop-up where I just smuggle in some ingredients in my suitcase with a couple of chefs,” the chef told Lifestyle Asia. “I am building a whole new restaurant here, and recreating the full Gaggan Anand experience in Singapore.”
The Indian chef, who walked away from his flagship two-Michelin-star restaurant Gaggan in Bangkok in August 2019, will be bringing a team of 20 staff with him for the duration of the residency, including his head chef and restaurant manager.
The pop-up will allow the 43-year-old chef plenty of opportunity to express his world famous creativity with a degustation menu served in the dining room, while his other concept, the Mexico-meets-India hybrid, Ms Maria and Mr Singh, will serve light bites and cocktails in the lounge area.
Ben Jones, CEO of the Mandala Group said: “This residency is proof of our dedication towards delivering extraordinary experiences for members. Bringing Mirazur, the world’s No.1 restaurant, was only the beginning of more excitement to come, and we are proud to present Gaggan Anand, an Asian visionary and force of change who shares many core values with Mandala Club.”
Reservations are already open, with lunch for $288++, and dinner for $388++. Wine pairing starts at an additional $148 for lunch.
