This food art from Sarah DeRemer presents animals and food in a interesting mix that both surprises and delights the eyes.
The works weave the worlds of fruits and vegetables with animals using some clever photo manipulation which DeRemer says is a study of tone, colour and negative space.
Speaking to The Guardian, DeRemer - who spent 10 years working as a veterinary technician - said: “Some people have said that it makes meat ‘vegan-friendly’, and that it worsens ignorance about animals. But I didn’t create the series to be a commentary on meat-eating or vegetarianism.”
Rather than just being faux-meat, Mamu is different. It's a mushroom-based meat alternative that's getting its launch in restaurants so that chefs can test its versatility. Flora Tsapovsky investigates.
