Ever wondered what the inside of food looks like? We've brought you projects before on FDL that look at foods on a microscopic level but this new project from Andy Ellison goes one step further.
He has looked at food through a Magnetic Resonance Imager or MRI - usually used for identifying medical problems inside the body.
The resulting works are a collection of animated giffs and hi-res images that show food like you've never seen it before. Cactus, cucumber and flower buds have all had the MRI makeover and many with some beautiful results.
Above is a picture of cucumber and below a snapshot of lily buds but to truly appreciate Andy's work you must see the full animations on his site.
Rather than just being faux-meat, Mamu is different. It's a mushroom-based meat alternative that's getting its launch in restaurants so that chefs can test its versatility. Flora Tsapovsky investigates.
