In a bid to highlight the plight of the honey bee, the tea company Taylors of Harrogate, have given bees a taste of the high life by building a luxury bee hotel with a design based on the Grand Budapest Hotel.
Launched as part of a marketing campaign to 'Taste the Flavour' the company built the fancy hotel, not merely as treat for bees looking for a weekend getaway, but "to create a buzz, encouraging people to make their own homes and gardens more bee-friendly."
The pink facade of the hive opens up to reveal a replica bijoux hotel inside, complete with peppermint leaf gym, a formal dining room, luxury bedrooms, including the sweet rhubarb suite with a decadent rhubarb sugar water bath, a uv disco and a bar.
