The online retailer Amazon has launched a new wine delivery service that features thousands of wine labels, many coming from California.
At the moment the Amazon Wine service is still in Beta mode meaning only people in California, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming and D.C. can order wines online.
Amazon will partner with wineries to bring the service to customers and at the moment they're charging $9.99 to ship six bottle of wine.
Tasting notes, recommended food pairings, alcohol content data and other information will be posted on the site, bringing the trusted recommendation and reviewing system that Amazon is well known for to the wine market.
