Are you up to the challenge of a 100–course tasting menu?
La Belle Assiette, a food start-up that offers tailored catering services for the home, is laying on the mammoth challenge in London at the beginning of October. Guests will be asked to part with £1000 ($1300) for the 100–course tasting menu, which will be staggered over 1000 minutes (16 hours and 40 minutes of eating).
Various chefs on La Belle Assiette's books will be cooking from breakfast through to dinner, though the exact dishes will remain a secret until the day itself. Each course will be paired with Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne.
La Belle Assiette founders Stephen Leguillon and Giorgio Ricco (below) will be tackling every course (they say that now!), but if you don’t want to join them for the full 100, you can purchase a ticket for a nine–course, one and a half hour stint with Champagne for just £49.
This isn’t the world’s longest tasting menu however – last year food wizards Bompass and Parr arranged a 200–course tasting menu over 24 hours, also in London.
