A fish and chip shop owned and run by a husband and wife team in Exmouth in Devon, England has been crowned the best fish and chip shop in the 2019 National Fish and Chip Awards.
Krispies fish and chips, in the south-west, was crowned with the hotly coveted title, based on the "business's sustainability credentials, menu innovation, its ability to cater for special dietary requirements and customer service and the quality of the product."
The 20-year-old business in the west of England scooped the prize above Captain’s Fish and Chips in Hertfordshire and Low’s Traditional Fish & Chips in Aberdeenshire who took second and third prize respectively.
Only one London based fish and chippie made the top ten, meaning there are plenty of reasons to be tempted out of the capital in a pilgrimage of the best fish and chips the country has to offer.
