The heart of Pineapple and Pearls

From the moment you approach Pineapple and Pearls, the tone is set: a neon-pink “Fancy” sign in the window hints at the playful sophistication awaiting inside. Once through the door, you’re greeted by oversized Champagne bottles, mirrored lightning bolts, and an ambiance that channels Studio 54 with a modern flair. Velvet dinner jackets, gold-sequined dresses, and an air of anticipation fit with the restaurant’s motto: “This is a party. Every night.” Guests are immediately handed a glass of Champagne, underscoring the festive atmosphere. Pineapple and Pearls removes the formality from fine dining without sacrificing its allure. Tableside absinthe cocktails and candle-warmed truffle-infused amaretto are just some of the indulgent surprises that await during this high-energy soirée.

Silverman’s culinary journey began far from the glitz of Pineapple and Pearls. Raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland, he initially pursued a degree in Accounting, Small Business Management, and Political Science before discovering his passion for food. After graduating from the esteemed L’Academie de Cuisine, he refined his skills at top kitchens, including Momofuku Noodle Bar and Ducasse in New York City, and McCrady’s in Charleston. These formative experiences helped shape his innovative yet approachable culinary philosophy. Silverman first made waves with Rose’s Luxury in 2013, a restaurant that quickly became a favorite for its elevated comfort food and impeccable hospitality. With Pineapple and Pearls, he took his love for creativity and community to new heights, redefining what fine dining could look and feel like.

Pineapple and Pearls has garnered critical acclaim since its debut. It was awarded two Michelin stars in its opening year, and holds one as of 2024. The restaurant is also one of the elite few to earn AAA Five Diamond status, in 2018, a testament to its combination of culinary excellence and exceptional service. Silverman has been widely celebrated, receiving the James Beard Award for Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic in 2016 and being named one of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs the same year.
