OyBar is a Studio City restaurant from chef Jeff Strauss, a former TV writer who turned his lifelong food obsession into one of LA’s most soul-driven spots. Located in the historic Oyster House Saloon space, OyBar serves playful, culturally layered dishes in a dive bar setting—think wagyu pastrami quesadillas, matzo ball ramen, smoked trout tostadas, and a cult-favorite burger with shiso-pickled onions. The menu blends Jewish, Japanese, Mexican, and SoCal influences with humor, nostalgia, and heat.
OyBar began as a pop-up called Jeff’s Table and evolved into a full restaurant after Strauss took over the Oyster House kitchen post-pandemic. The vibe is unpretentious, the food is deeply personal, and the dishes tell a story—one that’s as much about reinvention as it is about flavor.
