Whilst prepping can sometimes feel like embarking on an operation it's not often we gown up before tackling the garlic. That is until we saw footage of the anonymous Food Surgeon at work dissecting a bulb of garlic in this strangely mesmerising video.
There's no voice over, music or distractions other than unadulterated close ups of the gowned food surgeon at work and the hypnotic sound of the dry papery garlic skin being carefully peeled away with tweezers before being methodically sliced with a surgical scalpel.
It's no surprise the auto-sensory experience of food appeals as it's already been proven to influence flavour. Pick up with leading expert Charles Spence for more on multi sensory dining.
